KICKAPOO QRP AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

Organization

The Kickapoo QRP Amateur Radio Club was organized on September 24, 2003 by Gary L. Auchard in memory of Clarence F. Drimmel – W0EBB of Atchison Kansas.   The club consists of 3 officers: President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer plus general membership. This club will hold monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross located at 525 Shawnee in Leavenworth Kansas.  This meeting will be in conjunction with the monthly meeting of the Pilot Knob Amateur Radio Club.  The main “on-the-air” communications meetings/discussions will be held as necessary on the 145.33 MHz, N0KOA repeater located in Leavenworth Kansas.

Purpose

The purpose of the club will be both technical and social.  The primary purpose will be the promotion of low power communication (20 watts or less) using the modes of SSB, FM, SSTV, FSTV CW, PSK-31, SATELLITE OPERATION, PACKET, APRS, and any new modes developed in the future.

A second purpose will be in the design, building and operation of portable antenna systems for use in emergency situations,  backpacking operations, mobile installations and home installations.

A third purpose will be the design, building and operation of portable power systems for use with portable amateur radio systems.

A fourth purpose will be to improve operator communication skills, efficiency and knowledge.

A fifth purpose will be sharing with the amateur radio community our knowledge, skills, techniques and information concerning the designing, building and operation of amateur radio systems.

Operating events will include Field Day, contests, public display events and special event station operation held in conjunction with or in addition to the Pilot Knob Amateur Radio Club (PKARC).

The social purpose will be a monthly dinner/breakfast gathering at local restaurants held in conjunction with the PKARC. 

Association

This club will operate as an auxiliary unit of the Pilot Knob Amateur Radio Club (PKARC) located in Leavenworth Kansas.  It is not to be used to compete with the PKARC for membership, as most members will be dues paying members of the PKARC with active membership in the Kickapoo QRP ARC being optional. 

Membership Dues

There will be no dues in this club as it functions as an auxiliary unit of the PKARC operating in conjunction with but separate from the PKARC charter.  You can be a full member of this auxiliary unit by paying annual dues to the PKARC and participation in club activities.  Membership in the Kickapoo QRP ARC will also be open to those individual that wish to participate as non-PKARC club members.  These members will have access to the knowledge, information and system designs developed by the Kickapoo QRP ARC, but will have no voting or other membership privileges of either club and will be known as non-dues paying associate members.

Trustee

Trustee of the club station license is Gary L. Auchard – WB0MNA.  Extra Class license holder.  The club call is W0EBB granted to the club by the FCC on December 2, 2003. 

Club Association Revocation

At any time in the future should a conflict arise between the PKARC and the Kickapoo QRP ARC where the stability of either club could be in question, the association as an auxiliary unit can be dissolved with a simple vote of the officers of either club.

In the event the Kickapoo QRP ARC trustee, Gary L. Auchard should move more than 50 miles from the city of Leavenworth Kansas, the association with the PKARC will be dissolved and the Kickapoo QRP ARC club and club call shall remain under the ownership and control of Gary L. Auchard – Trustee.
